In a very interesting move, AT&T has signed on to sponsor and help pay for the woefully underfunded DNC 2008 Denver Convention just weeks after the party’s presumptive nominee voted for the FISA bill that gave the telecommunications companies immunity from civil action, which could have cost the industry untold millions.
I am not saying that these two things are connected…
BUT I do find it interesting that Barack Obama swore up and down that he was against the bill, promised to filibuster it, and said that he would not vote for a bill that included immunity for the telecoms… only to reverse course and vote for the bill AND then, all of a sudden, AT&T helps pay for the cash strapped convention…
Are you kidding me?
Yeah, Barry’s a real different kind of politician alright… real different.
