Ok, so Joe Biden made these scary comments during a stump speech…
ABC.
“Mark my words,” the Democratic vice presidential nominee warned at the second of his two Seattle fundraisers Sunday. “It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy…. Watch, we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.”
“I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate,” Biden said to Emerald City supporters, mentioning the Middle East and Russia as possibilities. “And he’s gonna need help. And the kind of help he’s gonna need is, he’s gonna need you – not financially to help him – we’re gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it’s not gonna be apparent initially, it’s not gonna be apparent that we’re right.”
“Gird your loins,” Biden told the crowd….
“There are gonna be a lot of you who want to go, ‘Whoa, wait a minute, yo, whoa, whoa, I don’t know about that decision’,” Biden continued….
“I probably shouldn’t have said all this because it dawned on me that the press is here,” he joked.
Why does this scare the absolute bejesus out of me? Simple.
First, Obama is young, inexperienced and naive… the world knows it and Biden just confirmed that he knows it too.
Not exactly the guy I want for President.
Second, because the world knows that he is young and naive, there are 5 scenarios that could explode in Obama’s face. Biden even names them and says that any one event, and indicates that more than one, will happen… and not because they would happen naturally, not because they were going to happen anyway, and as a corrollary would not happen with McCain as President… they would happen BECAUSE Obama is President.
Not WHEN… BECAUSE.
Simply electing Obama would incide one or more MAJOR international incidents? Well why the hell would I want that?
Third, the comparison that Biden makes is to the young Kennedy. While I greatly admire Kennedy and how he handled himself during the Cuban Missile Crisis and a few other scenarios, there were some grievous errors on his part that led us to near certain full scale nuclear war.
The Kruschev-Kennedy summit was an embarrassment. Kennedy was completely outclassed.
The Bay of Pigs incident was a total disaster. A trainwreck.
The escalation of the Vietnam War was not the best idea ever… and that nearly tore the country apart.
These incidents and the image of a young, naive, and weak President led to the closes the world has ever been to all out nuclear war. Kennedy’s initial fumbling nearly cost every single person on the earth their lives.
That said, Kennedy did some wonderful things domestically and Kennedy’s management of the Cuban Missile Crisis was superlative. It rewrote the books on international diplomacy…. I would just prefer not to get to that point again.
Fourth, I wanna know what the hell Biden is talking about when he says to basically just trust them because ”it’s not gonna be apparent initially, it’s not gonna be apparent that we’re right”?????
What the hell is he talking about?!?!?! What the hell kind of decision is Obama going to make where the whole country is gonna do a “WTF?”
This mystery decision is the most ominous part of the whole thing. Damn that is scary.
What’s it gonna be? An invasion of Pakistan? Backing Hamas (who is endorsing the Obama/Biden ticket) and Palestine? Institution of a draft? A crazy jump in taxes? Mass nationalization of banks?
And we are supposed to suspend our own judgement and substitute it with that of Dear Leader Chairman MaObama? Are you kidding me?
Oh hell no… No Deal.

Decidedly a WTF moment…
Unfortunately, I can think of a number of scenarios where Obama’s going to have to make a hard choice, and his inclinations aren’t going to be towards the best choice for the US. For example, what if a resurgent Russia goes “We want Alaska back. We get Alaska, you won’t get San Francisco nuked. Seem like a fair deal to you?”
Or Iran pops off a test nuke. (Wait, I know they’re not supposed to be developing them. Um, they borrowed one from, oh, Libya. Yeah, that’s the ticket…) Israel plans for a pre-emptive strike on the facilities in Iran, requesting transit priveleges across Iraqi airspace. Are they going to get it from an Obama administration?
Obama acts like a 16 year old on a used car lot standing in a puddle of drool looking at the car of his dreams. The used car salesmen (other, hostile world leaders) are looking at him and going “Just how much CAN we take him for?”
The only problem is, that 16 year old ends up with a lemon and a crappy loan as a worst-case scenario. The cost of an Obama Presidency might be a whole lot higher…
My money is on the institution of a draft.
Truth be told… I found it quite curious that, just last week, when Obama hazarded the opinion that he would include women if he instituted a draft. Didn’t that strike anyone esle as an odd thing to say?
I mean here we have the “peace/ bring the troops home” candidate talking about … not IF there is to be a draft…. but HOW he will execute one.
And we know he plans to beef up security in Afghanistan… so he can go into Pakistan if necessary. He has said so more than once.
This man ran his primary campaign on the idea that he had superior judgment where the Iraq war was concerned. He has convinced Move On, and all it’s gullible young followers that he is a big peace advocate. Nothing, I propose, could be further from the truth.
I have no idea what Obama’s goals in the middle east may be…. I don’t think any of us do. But, I can tell you one thing…. they are not laudable and they are probably not even honorable.
His followers are gonna need to keep the faith alright. Cuz he is gonna mandate that they put on army fatigues and walk across the Pakistani border. Men and women alike.
Oh yeah… and how convenient is it that he now has Colin “Saddam has WMDs” Powell on his advising team?
I can see General Powell sitting before the US Congress in less than a year… trying to convince us all that whatever the new empty suit says about some far distant sovereign country is true….. and that he needs a draft to make in order not to deply the same soldiers yet again….
And, of course, with a mostly Dem congress… they will get whatever they ask for.
I sent this article to a Dem who’s sitting on the fence, and who is passionate about defending Isreal- I hope this gets him to thinking about what Barky
really means for the Middle East.
Biden does another “Biden” again, although it does remind me of a political cartoon from the Reagan vs. Mondale election in 1984: Mondale is asking the big Russian bear “How would you like me as President?
The bear responds with “Medium rare”
Hopefully who ever wins we won’t have to face a major overseas crisis, we have enough to deal with domestically for a while.
Is Biden just really stupid, or does he really want his ticket to lose. That statement should provoke even the Obama worshipers to regurgitate their Kool Aide. As for the rest of us, perhaps we ought to give Canada an immigration problem.

I think your first speculation is incorrect, but the second one is dead on. Biden, as the chosen VP candidate, should (I believe) have supposedly close contact with Obama. Thus, he could judge for himself whether he’s suited for the Presidency.
Let’s take things one step further – what if Biden, once he gets to know Obama somewhat AFTER being selected, realizes that…
1. Obama’s not just an empty suit, he’s a DANGEROUS empty suit, and…
2. The lust for power of the Democratic Party has put someone in place that has serious intentions of dismantling the democratic system here in the US, and
3. Obama, as President, with a Democratic House and Senate, would have 2 years to wreak what damage he could.
He’s got two choices at this point – either blow Obama’s cover and be discredited as Crazy Joe Biden, ending his political career (with no guarantee that the Obama train will be derailed) or do what he can to subtly derail the train himself
The latter gives him some leeway in methods. Thus, you’re seeing things like this and other gaffes and misstatements. He IS actually trying to lose, but not be blatant about it.
What I would like to ask is this! If Obama’s Vice President can’t trust him to make the right decision then how could or why should any American in their right mind trust him?
Colin Powell didn’t waste any time before he started lying to us the people. He said that Obama has always been a Christian, well Obama’s sister said that he became a Christian 20 years ago which would have made Obama 28 at the time.
All Biden is saying in this very political statement is that “O” will be tested by the world because they know he can’t handle it. Just liike the Russians tested Kennedy. The problem is, Kennedy had a great deal more experience than “O”. From 1947-1960, he represented his constituents in the House and the Senate. That’s 13 years. He had much more experience than”O”.
Biden is begging for “friends” in the world to rally to his cause. Biden understands that there will be conflict because the world knows O is untested.
And, although I’m not the greatest fan of the Kennedy’s, I still feel that JFK was much brighter and had more savvy than does “O”. I don’t even think it’s a contest.
And I’m not a racist. Believe me, I think Condie Rice would make a better Pres than “O”. She certainly has knowledge of foreign policy and national security. And she’s black and female! What can I say?
But, alas, she didn’t run.
Biden seems even more convinced than he was during the primary that Obama is unqualified. Getting to know him up close has Biden worried about the danger The ONE poses to the US. This sounds like something that the McCain/Palin side could say but of course they could not say this without being slammed by the media.
Biden and Michelle can sink this guy , faster that cement shoes in the Hudson river.

I have to agree that Biden is acting out on buyer’s remorse. While he may have felt okay about accepting the VP nomination in the beginning, it is so clear that he’s doing everything he can to undermine Obama now. Maybe he WANTS Barky to push him under the bus, so he isn’t a part of the mess that might come. I can think of no reason that a VP candidate would say something like this about his principle on the stump. Goes right along with Biden saying “Hillary would have been a better choice for VP than me.” Biden is letting us know that Obama doesn’t know sh** from shinola.
My theory on Biden’s plan :
1) get elected with BO
2) spill the beans so BO gets impeached
3) party!
Biden could be trying to warn us. A ‘generated’ conflict is coming? Is he saying this is somewhat of a conspiracy in the works, in which Obama’s planned response to the planned ‘crisis’ is going to be something so terrible that even morally bankrupt Joe Biden wants out? Joe Biden described what a battle there was in his conscience when he changed from voting for court nominees based on their quals to voting against them if they were conservative. It took him five years to kill his morality on that point. What if he truly does have a smidge left of love for this country, or goodness, that makes him want to give away this election to keep the Obametron out of power? Is he smart enough to try to cover himself by making this look like a gaffe? I have been praying steadily that Obama/Biden would inadvertently tell the truth, that the truth would just start coming out, like Jim Carey in “Liar, Liar!” So, either Biden or the good Lord is showing us mercy by truth through his mouth….?

Maobama is exactly what I have been thinking for some time because of the much-exaggerated hype around the Obama “creation.” I remember reading a Mao-era Chinese medical journal that was so funny we laughed all the way through it. Soldiers grievously wounded in battle suddenly stood up and praised him for healing them. Needless to say, the journal did not exactly measure up to scientific standards, eastern or western.

If there is patently unfair coverage to anyone, I will address it… even if the unfairness is directed at Obama. I do my best.
We JSND’ers are a passionate and pissed off bunch and work hard to get information out as fast as possible. I am convinced that none of the more balanced info or analysis would get out if it were not for the bloggers at this point. We have a hard enough time forcing the media to cover what we do get out, that if the blogs did not exist, the bias would be worse than it already is. What we have seen has just been amazing.
While many of us do not like Obama, what most of us are angry about is the selection process (notice I said selection, not election) that the party and the media have forced down our throats. The tactics have offended our core sense of right and wrong, so we said “No Deal.”
I don’t appreciate being told that I am a moron, that I have no place else to go, and that I should shut up, fall in line, and be a good little boy.
Hell no… this is my vote, not the DNC’s, not NBC’s and not Obama’s. Mine.

Not a stump speech, a talk to donors which he thought
was private. At the end he noticed reporters who apparently he hadn’t expected and said maybe he shouldn’t have said all that.
Here’s the scenerio:
1. Six months after O is installed as “Dear Leader”, there is a terrroist attack using either a chemical, bilogical, or some type of nuclear weapon (either a “suitcase” nuke or a “dirty bomb”.
2. Thousands of people are killed or injured if the weapon is a chemical or biological one. Same plus collateral damage to the blast area if it’s a “nuke”.
3. “O” does nothing like Clinton did after the first Trade Center attack and says that the attack is a “law enfocement problem” and indirectly says that we brought the attack upon ourselves because of our “world policy”
4. O declares a national emergency, suspends the Constitution, declares martial law and orders the immdeiate confiscation of all privately owned firearms.
5. Either situation, the 3rd American Revolution starts.
Ironic that this took place in the Emerald City-LOOK BEHIND THE CURTAIN-Toto just pulled it back a bit!
I agree with you on Kennedy except about the Cuban Missile Crisis. What most Americans are not are of is that Kennedy played that for all the PR it was worth, the photographs of him and his advisors sitting around looking profound!
The real deal was that the US had place missiles in Turkey pointed them at the USSR during Eisenhower’s administration. Kruschev demanded we remove them and sent missiles towards Cuba to make his point. He sent them plainly, fully within sight of our spy planes. He really just wanted ours removed.
So all Kennedy had to do is remove ours. Most Americans don’t know about the missiles in Turkey. They just know JFK stood up to the Soviets.
Obama is like FK, his idol, everything is played out for the camera. no wonder Hollywood loves him!
We need a statesman not a narcissistic liar.
That’s the problem. The lies. Liars have a specific pathology that can be very dangerous. They care only about themselves, and if Obama does get elected, these lies could be the red flag historians look back on and are surprised were ignored.
In any event, this election will make history, but not the positive moment Obama supporters assume. The misogyny revealed within the press and Democratic party will be looked back on with the same disgust that we have for when Boss Tweed’s men beat suffragettes marching in parades.
Democrats have no self reflection. They assume they are right and everyone else is stupid or evil. I am Liberal, but I don’t believe Obama and his supporters really are. If they were they wouldn’t be so uncivil and vitriolic.

I am aware of the missiles in turkey… actually, that was not the reason for the missiles going to Cuba, their removal is what Khruschev got in return for taking the missiles out of Cuba.
The missiles in Turkey were actually old and being decommissioned the following year, so it was no skin off Kennedy’s back, but Khruschev got to go back to the Kremlin and claim a victory to save face.
The brilliance was the way in which Kennedy telegraphed his moves through the naval positioning to communicate a message to Khruschev.
