In a follow up to my article about how the media is inventing White racists and racist comments from people that were never made, comes new news… apparently they are inventing death threats against Obama…
And Obama, his supporters, all the major media outlets and the DNC are carrying this myth to the far corners of the country….
BUT, now… the Secret Service has called bullshit on the reporter saying that this never happened.
Good. It’s about time.
SCRANTON – The agent in charge of the Secret Service field office in Scranton said allegations that someone yelled “kill him” when presidential hopeful Barack Obama’s name was mentioned during Tuesday’s Sarah Palin rally are unfounded.
The Scranton Times-Tribune first reported the alleged incident on its Web site Tuesday and then again in its print edition Wednesday. The first story, written by reporter David Singleton, appeared with allegations that while congressional candidate Chris Hackett was addressing the crowd and mentioned Oabama’s name a man in the audience shouted “kill him.”
News organizations including ABC, The Associated Press, The Washington Monthly and MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann reported the claim, with most attributing the allegations to the Times-Tribune story.
Agent Bill Slavoski said he was in the audience, along with an undisclosed number of additional secret service agents and other law enforcement officers and not one heard the comment.
“I was baffled,” he said after reading the report in Wednesday’s Times-Tribune.
He said the agency conducted an investigation Wednesday, after seeing the story, and could not find one person to corroborate the allegation other than Singleton.
Slavoski said more than 20 non-security agents were interviewed Wednesday, from news media to ordinary citizens in attendance at the rally for the Republican vice presidential candidate held at the Riverfront Sports Complex. He said Singleton was the only one to say he heard someone yell “kill him.”
“We have yet to find someone to back up the story,” Slavoski said. “We had people all over and we have yet to find anyone who said they heard it.”
Hackett said he did not hear the remark.
Slavoski said Singleton was interviewed Wednesday and stood by his story but couldn’t give a description of the man because he didn’t see him he only heard him.

The Race Card is used at whim and effects can be turned and off at users will. The race card when overused is mere strategy and in this sense abuses the real cause. I think o. will abuse the race card ,and he has suggested that there is an ability to do so in his book. Also when ever a critic points out a flaw in his strategy or policy or experience/young judgement. well just pull out the race card or the smear card or the racist/smear card. SOME TIMES A FLAW IS JUST A FLAW.
No one shouted “Kill Him” at the Palin rally. Good stuff and this should be widely publicized.
But what about the people saying Obama is a “muslim”, and “arab” and a “terrorist”? What about the monkey-with-an-obama sticker guy?
Are these people democratic operatives out to make republicans look bad? We need to know!
ptet….
I am doing my best to find out for you! Regardless, there are fringe elements in every group.
For instance, what about the people at the Obama rallies wearing the “Palin is a C*nt” Tee Shirts?

not too nice, huh?
McCain challenged Obama about the race card tactics last night. It took guts and he took him straight on. I’ve talked to several non-political types this morning and this challenge brought into focus the vague notion–not yet articulated–about the essential unfairness of Obama’s attacks on racism. McCain’s charge was not over the top, but it was just enough for people to identify the vicious subtlety of Obama’s whinny victimhood and yelling “racist” in a crowded world.
Remember how much criticism McCain took for calling out his own supporters for mentioning Obama’s middle name and Wright and Michelle Obama? The man understands the give and take of debate and demonstrated he understood exactly what the Obama campaign was all about. Last night he was able to pull out his “purer than Ceasar’s wife” argument and Obama looked and acted like the scumbag he is.
I’m surprised there isn’t more conversation about this part of the debate.

To be fair, she is a c*nt. Don’t hate the truth.
Cheryl… that is disgusting and you should be ashamed.
Hey THC. The “Sarah Palin is a C__t” mob do their own damage. But I really don’t see that as being in the same league as calling the likely next president of the USA an “arab muslim terrorist”.
Believe me I think McCain is trying to run an honorable campaign. But I don’t think he *is* running one. Blame whatever minority of his supporters you want… But that doesn’t look good.
McCain could have stamped on “the race card” long ago by making it clear he wouldn’t countenance race being used in the campaign. But he didn’t and it has.
Anyway. Keep up the good blogging.
Sadly, sexism is more accepted than racism. That is one of the great injustices in America today, and you just proved the point ptet.
Obama has spent more money than any presidential candidate in history on negative attack ads.
McCain did try to stamp out the race card early on by calling Obama on it right after Hillary conceeded. McCain has a friggin adopted daughter from Bangladesh! Cindy took her from Mother Theresa’s arms for God’s sake!
Playing the race card is what David Axelrod does. It is his big play. Look up how he ran the Street mayorial campaign in Philly… it was horrendous. This one surpasses it though.
The things that the Obama supporters are doing is much worse… race baiting and smearing, massive voter registration fraud, pollsters that are supposed to help seniors fill out absentee ballots marking Obama instead of McCain like the voter wanted, arson, violence, threats, abuse…. it has been SHOCKING.
If you wanna sit down and do a comparison on which campaign has supporters that have been more egregious… I will win. GUARANTEED.
Oh, and I read your blog… like the sense of humor and the writing style, disagree with your conclusions… ahh, well.
Thanks Texas Hill
Do you have any concrete evidence of this “massive voter registration fraud”? I sat thru the ‘00 and ‘04 campaigns and read lots about voter fraud (mostly disqualifying potential voters) and dodgy voting machines. There’s very little of that this time. Is this just something the losing side whines about, or is it real?
And “race baiting”? Jumpin’ jehosephat. How many McCain supporters are actually moronic enough to believe Obama is a Muslim Arab Terrorist? Very very few I bet… But we’re seeing quite a chunk of that sort of stuff in the media. People are happy to repeat it without believing it. Would they do that if Obama was a white guy?
As for negative ads… Obama has the cash to swamp out McCain. McCain’s adds as I understand it have been nearly all negative. They have to be ’cause he’s getting crushed on the issues. It’s horrible and it’s a joke and whoever wins I hope to high heaven they try and stop it happening again… Although since the entire US political system (it ain’t much different here in Britain) is geared towards getting re-elected, I won’t hold my breath…
[Just to clarify, I meant to say you see what I would say is racist-motivated stuff at every McCain/Palin rally you see]
What I wanted to comment on tho was this:-
Problems with voting machines, purged voters, insufficient paper ballots, and more are expected to mar elections in many states this year. Nine million people will vote with equipment that has never been used before. There aren’t enough poll workers in some areas. It could be a multistate mess. Imagine Florida 2000 in half a dozen states. Election administrators are preparing for the worst but are all reciting the election administrator’s prayer every night: “Lord, let it be a landslide.”
http://www.electoral-vote.com/icon.html
If it’s a close election, we’re going to hear a lot about voter fraud. if it’s a landslide it’ll be irrelevant I guess.
And I like John McCain’s “maverick” message and talk about changing the system. I don’t believe he’d deliver that, but that’s a different point
best wishes
Ptet…
I have covered it some recently, you can find a few of my posts here
http://texashillblog.wordpress.com/category/us-domestic-politics/acorn-us-domestic-politics/
you can also google “Acorn Voter Registration Fraud” and you will get a billion hits.
They are under investigation in about 13 or 14 states right now.
For example, it is so bad that Philly has turned over all of their voter rolls to the Feds because they can’t figure out what is real and what is not anymore.
No Quarter and Ms Placed Democrat, which you can find in my blogroll, are two of the leading investigators on the subject as well.
It is horrifying.
The worst part is that Obama worked for them as a community activist, represented them in 2 lawsuits as an atty, gave them $850k for get out the vote projects this year, and has promised them a seat at the policy making table if he is President.
Also, check out the ACORN activities in the primaries here…

“IT’S ALL OBAMA PROPAGANDA”!!! THEY ARE AFRAID OF SARAH PALIN AND WHAT SHE WILL DO TO HIS POLL NUMBERS.
“VOTE COUNTRY FIRST” “McCAIN & PALIN”
Cheryl,
I love Sarah Palin and I’m not ashamed of it. I also hate that word and would never call any woman by it. Not even Sandra Bernhard, who joked she hopes Palin gets gang raped! Disgusting! Why are people so afraid of a conservative woman gaining power? Feminism isn’t owned by liberals! I’m sorry, but it’s not. I’m a moderate Independent, so I don’t get these extreme views of either Party, but I am astounded by the hatred directed at Palin from the left! There are Republican and conservative women out there and she is as inspirational to them as Hillary was to us! They deserve respect too! I love McCain too, and I’m more aligned with his policies. I actually had a hard time deciding between him and Hillary in the primary. I went with Hillary. Despite everyone thinking Obama gets all young people, this was my first election. I came into it thinking I was a left leaning Independent, but I now see I’m more aligned with Republicans on issues and common decency! The fringe people on both sides of the aisle are terrible, but the media shouldn’t focus just on McCain’s crowds! If you never want to vote for Palin, fine, but show her some common respect!
ptet,
It is all about human rights. Keyword being “human”! If someone committed a hate crime upon Palin b/c she is a woman, would it be the same as committing a hate crime on someone you thought was an arab terrorist? Yes. Or doing it to someone for being gay,black,handicapped,etc.. You get my point! Racial slurs are the same as sexist slurs and neither serve any kind of positive purpose! You can’t pick and choose who deserves treatment like that! If you truly believe all people all equal, nothing like this should seem worse than the other! What about Democrats who call African American Republicans “uncle toms”? I guess that isn’t as bad either, huh? I condemn it all, but I’m not about to rank it on the top 10 charts of importance! The muslim thing is mainly because of his name I guess, and rumors. The terrorist thing mostly comes from his friends! I think he’s radically left, but that’s it. I also don’t think he has the judgment or integrity to be President!
