Update 10/22:: 3rd Lawsuit Now Filed Questioning Obama’s Citizenship.
As a follow up to the possible news that Obama was adopted by his Indonesian step-father, comes info that there has been a second lawsuit filed questioning Obama’s status as a natural born citizen.

Seattle WA. 10/9/2008 — Steven Marquis, a resident of Fall City WA today filed suit in Washington State Superior Court against Secretary of State Sam Reed demanding verification of Barack Obama’s citizenship status.
The complaint seeks specifically that the office of the Washington Secretary of State verify and certify that Mr. Obama is or is not a “natural born” citizen by producing original or certified verifiable official documents. The lawsuit argues that this certification should take place before the election to preclude a constitutional crisis and likely civil unrest should such certification, after the election, prove that Mr. Obama was not qualified for office.
The Complaint argues that the Secretary of State has the authority and duty to not only certify the voters but also and most importantly the candidates and in so doing prevent the wholesale disenfranchisement of voters who would had had an opportunity to choose from qualified candidates had the certification preceded the election process.
At this point, Mr. Obama has not allowed independent or official access to his birth records nor supporting hospital records. The Hawaii Health Department has violated Federal law by ignoring formal Freedom of Information requests for the same. Due to the facts and numerous other allegations that would challenge Mr. Obama’s fundamental qualifications for office, a Federal lawsuit was filed and is currently being heard in District Court, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Obama failed to respond to the District Court’s request to produce or allow access to the official documents (should they exist) and instead filed a motion to dismiss arguing the Plaintiff had no “standing” or right to know. This non-response as of 9/24/2008 in Federal court casts doubt on the veracity of the electoral system and is the principal reason for this lawsuit. The late entry of this suit is due in principal part to Mr. Obama’s delay and subsequent non response to reasonable request for valid certificates. Multiple requests for early certification to the Office of the Secretary of State has been rejected.
[clarification: The district court process itself demands a response from Mr. Obama. When a complaint is filed, the defendant has an opportunity to respond to the judge regarding the plaintiffs request for a preliminary injunction. Obama did respond, but not with the requested documentation, not even minimally so. He responded with a motion for dismissal based on “standing” rather than the merits of the case]
The Washington Secretary of State Office is specifically charged with certifying and guaranteeing the veracity of official documents and overseeing the elections to wit the people’s confidence in the fundamental aspect of democracy is maintained. To date, in this regard, Secretary of State Sam Reed has not carried out that fundamental duty.
This lawsuit demands injunctive relief directing Sam Reed, Secretary of State, carry out the duty of his office in this regard answering the formal complaints for verification of Mr. Obama and any other candidate appearing on the ballots issues through his office for which formal complaints have been received.

Interesting that these lawsuits keep popping up… why so many questions??? I guess it’s because Obama doesn’t friggin answer them honestly… first the Kenyan citizenship, now possible adoption by an Indonesian citizen…

Why doesn’t Obama just produce his birth certificate? When I applied for my first drivers license – many years ago, it was required of me – so I either gave them the document, or didn’t drive.
Why doesn’s Hawaii respond to the information request and let us all move on – knowing the truth.
We need to end all of this ‘play-time” and get serious.
I find it most dangerous to have to deal with ‘past trained attorney-types’ who don’t have to comply with requests we ‘common citizens’ must honor.

it appears, from my reading of various sites that obama is desperately trying to cover up his true past. I feel with almost 99% certainty that Obama was born in Kenya and that he is a muslim…He will not reveal his college records, because it will reveal much more information about him…I dont think he is an american because either 1.) He was born in kenya as stated by his paternal grandmother who was in the room when obama was born and 2.) he gave up any usa citizenship he had when he was adopted by ortero and moved to indonesia and 3.) He traveled to pakistan when he was 20 years of age on an Indonesian passport.
Also at the time he moved to Indonesia, they did not allow dual citizenship which was only recently begun again in 2006. So his usa citenship has been recanted three tines and I wouldn’t doubt there are more incidents.
Its too bad the American, liberal, back stabbing press hasnt done their job and checked this man out. Obamna needs to provide these papers, which will answer questions about his citizenship…Just because the press isnt bright enough to ask these questions, doesnt mean that most Americans do not have questions about his questionable background. I hope the judge enforces these orders.

Question: What if Obama was born in Hawaii but never issued a birth certificate? In 1960, interracial relationships were not well accepted and therefore the possibility exists that there was not only no hospital birth but no certificate to confirm it. What dies this mean for his citizenship?

It is my understanding that Obama was not issued a birth certificate from Hawaii – but instead he was issued a Certificate of Live Birth. Is this the same, apparently not. Does this make him automatically a US Natural Born citizen – again, apparently not.
There are many, many unanswered questions around this guy. I was on the fence but I have fallen off on the McCain Palin side.

A “certificate of live birth” is Public Health Service-speak for “birth certificate.” Since 1946 PHS has campaigned to try to standardize practices among the states.
So, a “certificate of live birth” means that a baby was delivered in that state, at the time and place specified. In some states, and colloquially, we call that a “birth certificate.”
In any case, it is the legal verification that birth occurred in that state, and would not be issued for a birth that occurred in another nation, or another state, typically.
I was unaware accountants got much into legal issues of vital records, Steve. What’s your expertise? What questions do you have that are left unanswered?
I believe that in 1961 Hawaii had a law that if one parent of an unborn child was a resident of Hawaii and the child was born in another country, the State of Hawaii would, upon request, issue a birth certificate for that child from the State of Hawaii. The document is different than a person actually born in Hawaii. It does not have the “normal” info we usually see, i.e., name of the hospital, footprints, etc.

Vieira should look at the definition of what an election crime is.
According to Langbert, in your third link, msjkulig, running for office is not a crime — nor is it the sort of “fraud” covered under the law:
Obama’s birth certificate has zero to do with the process by which ballots are obtained, marked or tabulated. It has nothing to do with how results are canvassed and certified.
The Secretary of State of your state is the agent who checks such qualifications, and the only person really who can challenge them. DOJ doesn’t have jurisdiction except there is an allegation of voter fraud (not candidate fraud), or indication that there are actions taken designed to suppress turnout.
For example, actions taken, like propaganda designed to suggest to voters that one candidate is not qualified to be on the ballot, is probably a violation of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 (as amended). DOJ can investigate that.
But you know as well as everyone else that DOJ is a sleeping tabby cat on these issues. You risk nothing by promulgating this hoax — except, maybe, your own reputation.
Oh, and while you’re reading Langbert’s stuff, pay careful attention to the material he says comes from the woman at DOJ, especially this part:

No such conspiracy has been committed here. I have only reported that the lawsuits exist and questioned that if true, what the impact would be.
I have never claimed, ever, that Obama was anything but a US citizen and as a matter of fact, I have stated repeatedly that I thought that this line of inquiry was a red herring.
