The Democrats are throwing this word around too damn much… this is dangerous stuff and they are using these accusations as a wedge issue, but do not understand the possible repercussions.

Rep. Barney Frank said Monday that Republican criticism of Democrats over the nation’s housing crisis is a veiled attack on the poor that’s racially motivated….
“They get to take things out on poor people,” Frank said at a mortgage foreclosure symposium in Boston. “Let’s be honest: The fact that some of the poor people are black doesn’t hurt them either, from their standpoint. This is an effort, I believe, to appeal to a kind of anger in people.”
Disgusting.
No one is attacking affordable housing you MORON. They are attacking the policies that led to the crisis we are now facing… the crisis that YOUR COMMITTEE over saw.
John McCain tried to stop what was happening 2 years ago… YOU BLOCKED IT.
It’s not about race… no one cares about race! It’s about people that can actually PAY!!!

I was talking to a friend a couple of days ago about how the Democrats should put someone squeaky clean in charge of the hearings about the financial mess, maybe even someone who voted against the bail out, so they really could look like they’re taking matter serious and not “politics as usual” as its mostly been handled so far. Try to restore some public trust.
Then we found out that Frank is going to be in charge of it, so he joked “thats so if anyone criticizes the Democrats he can call them homophobes”.
Looks like he was close.
Barney would have to move up 3 rungs on the evolutionary scale, just to be a pig.
You’re absolutely right, Barney. It is racist. It’s about WHITE people, namely you Barney, being led around by the nose, doing whatever you needed to do to cater to the minority base of the (formerly) Democratic party.
When the Dems party-line voted to block the regulatory bill in ’05 (McCain’s bill), was that racist? You see, I’m confused. Was it racism that got us into this mess? Or are you saying that we can’t get out of it now, or even talk about how it happened because that would be racist?
But, Barney. This one won’t fly. it’s not racist when the house of cards you built on a foundation of sand to get loans for people who couldn’t afford them (by the way, when did all the poor people become black, did I miss that, must have been quite a sight) falls down and washes away a few dozen billion dollars of U.S. assets. That, I’m afraid you’re going to have to live with.
