Obama Tried To Stall Plans For Iraq Withdrawal

NY POST

WHILE campaigning in public for a speedy withdrawal of US troops from Iraq, Sen. Barack Obama has tried in private to persuade Iraqi leaders to delay an agreement on a draw-down of the American military presence.

According to Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, Obama made his demand for delay a key theme of his discussions with Iraqi leaders in Baghdad in July.

“He asked why we were not prepared to delay an agreement until after the US elections and the formation of a new administration in Washington,” Zebari said in an interview.

WOW…  Really?

This is gonna hurt, and hurt real bad.

Can you say Logan Act?

  1. I really hope so. Any other election year this would be a deal breaker but this year I’m not sure. Depends on if MSM picks it up.

  2. I would be careful with stories like that, absent independent confirmation. This could be a Bush dirty trick, and besides, is Obama really that astute on Iraqi politics that he could pull off something like that? One of his surrogates, maybe, but not Obama.

  3. Hi Mike… I would assume that a decently reputable paper like the NY Post probably vetted it plenty.
