Landstuhl Hospital Update: Fmr Director of Trauma Surgery Slams Obama for Cancel

Today, Dr. Danny Jazarevic, who served as the Chief of Trauma, Critical Care and Vascular Surgery at Landstuhl, issued the following statement on Barack Obama’s canceled visit to Ramstein and Landstuhl:

“Last week, Senator Obama skipped a visit with wounded U.S. troops at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany because the Pentagon would not allow campaign staff or media to accompany him into the hospital. I served as director of trauma surgery at that hospital for nearly four years and saw the effect that a visit from a celebrity like Senator Obama could have on morale. During that time, I do not recall a single member of Congress canceling a visit with the troops despite being just a few hours away, but Senator Obama seems to have been more concerned with how the visit would affect him than how it would affect the soldiers recovering from wounds received in the service of their country.”

Former CSM of Landstuhl Army Hospital (Germany) Speaks Out On Obama Cancellation

The former Command Sergeant Major of Landstuhl from 2003 to 2005 released this statement today regarding Senator Obama’s decision to not visit wounded soldiers in Landstuhl:

Senator Obama has explained his decision to cancel a scheduled visit there by blaming the military, which would not allow one of his political advisers to join him in a tour of the facility. Why Senator Obama felt he needed an adviser with him to visit U.S. troops is unclear, but if Senator Obama isn’t comfortable meeting wounded American troops without his entourage, perhaps he does not have the experience necessary to serve as commander in chief.

Personally, I want to know 6 things…

1.  In 2004 why is a person RUNNING FOR SENATE with “no plans to run for president” donating half a million dollars or more to the party and to other Congressional campaigns?

2.  As an “unknown”, where the hell is all that money coming from?  Most of those people struggle to build their own warchest and are extatic with $2500-5000 donations, but he is GIVING away millions over the last 3-4 years?  Millions.  Who is giving an “unknown” so much money?  Where is it coming from?  Rezko?  Khalidi?  Auchi?  Ayers?  Worse?

3.  Funny that the year he donates $300,000 to the DSCC, the unknown candidate for Senate from Illinois gets a prime speaking spot at the DNC Convention.  Shocking, huh?

4.  Funny that HillPac is the “largest” PAC in the US (iirc) and yet Obama’s is donating 3 to 30 times the amounts HillPac did…  and directly to people that are the key to getting him elected.

5.  You might say “it’s smart politics” and you would be right.  It is.  But it looks really really bad when a Super Delegate has gotten a considerable amount of money and chooses to vote for the “donor” against the wishes of their own constituency.   Really bad. 

6.  Doesn’t this appear to be the exact thing that Obama points to when he makes all that noise about lobbyists and not taking their money?  The possibility of hypocrisy astounds me.

Obama: “I have become a symbol of the possibility of America”

In his closed door meeting with House Democrats Tuesday night, presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama delivered a real zinger, according to a witness, suggesting that he was beginning to believe his own hype.

Obama was waxing lyrical about last week’s trip to Europe, when he concluded, according to the meeting attendee, “this is the moment, as Nancy [Pelosi] noted, that the world is waiting for.”

The 200,000 souls who thronged to his speech in Berlin came not just for him, he told the enthralled audience of congressional representatives. “I have become a symbol of the possibility of America returning to our best traditions,” he said, according to the source.

So now HE is the international symbol?  HE is the hope for America?

Does anyone else find this a bit self-aggrandizing and arrogant?

This is Moveon.org’s new campaign ad for Obama.  I have never ever seen a more vacuous or inane advertizement for a political campaign ever.  There is ZERO substance to it.  It says absolutely NOTHING.

God damn it, this makes me friggin crazy.  There is no substance to this man or his campaign.

You might as well say “Vote for Obama cause he makes you tingly in the pants.”

Is this what we are reduced to?

Mountain Sage comes out swinging once again with this spot on analysis of the Obama campaign’s tone.  I am a huge fan of this blog and it’s a regular stop for me…

That’s how I see the Obama campaign and Obama. God knows his campaign has been flashy. Rock concerts, a plane with his very own logo, trite but catchy slogans like yes we can and we are the ones we have been waiting for. Wow, he even had his very own Vero Possumus seal (for a short time anyway.) Yes, it’s been impressive and flashy. But his campaign has also been trashy.

Some of the most flashy bits are also the most trashy. Seriously, his own version of a presidential seal? The O logo instead of the American flag on his plane? Rock concerts to pump up attendance at his speeches? Is that really the kind of ego driven campaign we expect from a potential president? If Obama were running for national event coordinator I could get with that program.

Obama Defends Blackwater, Says They Are Getting A “Bad Rap.”

Not Your Sweetie has been coming out with heavy hitters recently, so it looks like I will defer to her again today.

Turns out that while Obama was in Afghanistan, Blackwater provided him with security.  He was quoted as saying that Blackwater gets a bad rap.  He has also stated that he cannot guarantee that he will not be using private security forces (aka mercenaries) in the future.

This is in direct contrast to Hillary Clinton’s position which is to ban private security contractors.

I find this ironic because most of the activist base that drove Obama skyward would find that their beliefs fall more in line with Hillary’s position than with Barack’s.

Obama Approves Publication Of His Prayer…

Ok, this is one of the most tasteless things I have ever heard of, and it is an affront to Judaism. 

 

During his visit to Israel, Barack Obama visited the Western Wall, aka Wailing Wall, which is the most sacred site in all of Judaism. 

The first affront was plastering the area around the Western Wall with campaign banners.  (Click Here) 

Then, as is standard practice, Obama folded up a piece of paper with a prayer written on it and stuck it in between the stones of the wall, leaving the prayer for G-d.

The next day a copy of the prayer was published by an Israeli paper who was roundly criticized for removing the prayer from the sacred wall, and calls for a criminal investigation began.  Turns out that the removal of prayers from the wall is not only tacky and sacrilegious, but apparently it is illegal and violates several laws.

Well, the papers spokesman released a statement today that the publication of the prayer was pre-approved by the Obama campaign.  And it wasn’t like it was pre-approved after they removed it and called to get permission to print it.  The paper claims that the Obama campaign actually called the paper first…  from the hotel…  right after he wrote it.  (Click Here)

Obama’s camp denied any approval of publication of course, but I find it VERY hard to believe that an Israeli paper would remove a prayer from the wall and desecrate their holiest site if they didnt get permission first. 

Occam’s razor leads me to believe the paper’s claims.  He wrote the prayer FOR publication.  How incredibly insulting and tacky?

This guy makes me want to barf.

Alaska’s Republican Senator Ted Stevens Indicted

“Senator Ted Stevens of Alaska, the longest-serving Republican senator in United States history and a figure of great influence in Washington as well as in his home state, has been indicted on federal charges of failing to report gifts and income.

Mr. Stevens, 84, was indicted on seven felony counts related to renovations on his home in Alaska. The charges arise from an investigation that has been under way for more than a year, in connection with the senator’s relationship with a businessman who oversaw the home-remodeling project.

The indictment will surely reverberate through the November elections. Mr. Stevens, who has been in the Senate for 40 years, is up for re-election this year. Mark Begich, a popular Democratic mayor of Anchorage, hopes to supplant him.”

This is good news for the Democrats.  Looks like they are picking up one more seat in the Senate.

Hopefully it will be one with a backbone…

What Obama Decided Not To Vote On Today

Something Wild And Unruly comes out swinging today with this post about the bill that was up for a vote today…  and apparently Obama, even though he was in DC, was the only Democrat that wasn’t there to vote for it.  (well, except Kennedy, but you will have to excuse him…  he has brain cancer.)

It was a bundle of bills dubbed Advancing America’s Priorities Act and included some very important pieces of legislation on things like children, healthcare, civil rights...  you know, the friggin platform of the Democratic party!

I applaud the Dems that pushed these bills through…  as for Obama…  At least he didn’t vote “present” this time, right?

In a very intresting development, the latest USA Today/Gallup poll has McCain up by 4 when including “Likely Voters.”

I am not putting TOOOOO much stock in this just yet, but it is just one more poll that shows the race between the two candidates tightening…  and that is not supposed to be happening LOL.

Doesn’t Anyone In The Media Find It Odd That….

Doesn’t anyone in the media find it odd that Obama raised in a year what it took Clinton several years to build?

Doesn’t anyone in the media find it odd that the party elders like Kerry and Kennedy would back an unknown newbie, even though their constituency was clearly held the opposite view?

Doesn’t anyone in the media find it odd that the DNC would facilitate the defeat and smearing of the 2 most popular and well known Democrats in the country and in the world?

Doesn’t anyone in the media find it odd that the Clintons, of all people, get accused of racism in the same state that McCain got smeared only 8 years earlier?

Doesn’t anyone in the media find it odd that Obama’s supporters regularly threaten the lives of average citizens, bloggers and media personalities and yet neither the Obama camp nor the Democratic Party says anything about it?

Doesn’t anyone in the media find it odd that Obama’s supporters threats have been so credible that people like Tavis Smiley had to resign from his radio show because of them…  and still the Obama camp and DNC say nothing?

Doesn’t anyone in the media find it odd that the Obama camp and the DNC talk about “unity” and yet make no moves towards it?

Doesn’t anyone in the media find it odd that a political party and it’s officials would tell millions of supporters to get out of the party, that they are republican plants and to stay home?

Doesn’t anyone in the media find it odd that a political party would do absolutely nothing about losing millions of voters and addressing their concerns…  instead blowing them off and saying “they will vote for us anyway.”

Doesn’t anyone in the media find it odd that the DNC and the Obama camp is so resistant to the prospect of even a Clinton Vice Presidency that it borders on being publically rude even though it is absolutely clear that the majority of Americans want it?

Doesn’t anyone in the media find it odd that in a “there is no way a Democrat can lose” year that Obama is tied in the polls, and yet the Obama campaign and the DNC could still give less than a crap about millions of voters?

 

Reporters, why aren’t you asking these questions? 

The last two elections were decided by only a few thousand votes, and this one is shaping up to be a squeaker too if the polling trends continue.

China’s ‘People’s Daily’ Calls Hillary A Hero To All Women, Victim Of Sexism

 The official paper of the Chinese Government seems to revere Hillary Clinton as a hero.

I find it as no surprise that China holds her in such high regard.  Beijing was the location of one of the most important speeches ever given on women’s and human rights…  and was given by none other than Hillary Clinton.

Here is what THE PEOPLE’S DAILY had to say.

U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has finally admitted defeat and returned to the Senate. Altercation Over Anti Obama Bumper Sticker Leads To Arrest

Basically, a couple living in Houston have a bumper sticker on their car depicting a little kid urinating on the name Obama.  These stickers are common place here in Texas, though they usually involve the rivalry between Ford and Chevy pickup trucks.

Apparently, while the couple had their car in the driveway and were about to leave, some lady pulled up and blocked their driveway.  This woman letting loose with the profanity and repeated several times that the bumper sticker was racist.  She then told the couple that she would call someone later that would “take care of them.”

This is what the Obama candidacy engenders…  physical threats and intimidation.  Bloggers, media personalities, and average citizens all recieving death threats and being the victims of inimidation and/or violence.
